And, since the Lowe’s kid’s workshop is now closed, this is a really great alternative. If you’re looking for a fun, free activity to do with your kids, then this is a great option, as it is educational too. The retailer holds a plethora of classes in a number of locations across the country, so you’re sure to find a class near you. The class was led by two women who demonstrated how to use the power tools. Yep, there were lots of power tools and attendees get to use them!
Check out their schedule to see if there is one near you and to see upcoming projects. Was looking for something to do with them that was for boys. We all spend time together and they learn good skills. My 7 yr old is autistic and he still enjoys most parts of it himself. Lowe’s used to do it as well every other week.

We try not to miss any of the kids workshops. The skills our grandchildren learn there benefit them greatly. They take pride in their building projects. Employees Paulette and Betty, who supervise the workshops, are personable, helpful, and attentive to the children. We can tell they enjoy working at the kids workshops. We are grateful to Home Depot for providing this free program.
Home Depot is offering a free kids workshop on Saturday, September 7 and you and your child can build and decorate a scarecrow planter. The kids can sand, glue, and paint pieces of wood to create this planter. I would so love it if you could make these workshops the first and second saturday of the month. I work every other weekend, so I can only get my grandkids there on some months and not others.

You used to be able to register for the Home Depot Free kids workshops in advance, but that does not guarantee kits will be available once you arrive. The Home Depot free kids workshops have been known to run out of supplies…so while you don’t need to make reservations for the workshops, you can register here. The Home Depot moved all workshop activities to virtual offerings in 2020 for safety reasons due to the Covid pandemic. Kids Workshops returned to stores for in-person participation this summer. Beginning Saturday, May 7th, The Home Depot’s Kids Workshops will return to in-store programming in U.S. stores.
Once you sign up for a workshop, just show up at the location you selected and get started! Home Depot employees will guide your kids through the day's activity for two hours . Adults are expected to stay for the duration of the workshop. Afterward, your child will get to take home their completed project, as well as a free achievement pin and certificate to congratulate them on a job well done.

With any free in-store event, it’s always best to call and confirm participation before going. The NEXT Home Depot Workshop is happening on January 7, 2023. Kids can learn how to build a Snowball Game. With a new project every month, kids have a reason to keep coming back.
Every month, Home Depot Canada holds a new workshop just for kids. They'll learn how to make a different project each time, and they can even take their creations home. We were incredibly pleased with the entire experience! It was a great way for our son to practice building skills with supplies, direction and expertise on hand.

You get a kit and you work of pellets of plywood. It ia self paced and parental help is necessary. So any age can do it if mom/dad has patience. Pretty sure there is two workshops in November. I saw a flyer there last month but didn’t grab it but I distinctly remember thinking, oh there is two in one of the months. I was told last sat (3/7) workshops were cancelled due to the Coronavirus. They gave us a kit and pin to assemble at home. Even if you cannot make it to the Free Kids’ Workshops, HomeDepot.com offers great kids’ activities videos and how-to’s right on their website.
There are tons of ways to save money at the Home Depot and one of those ways is through their free work shop classes for both kids and adults. Our Home Depot knows my husband so well that when they have the kits, one of the employees always gives him 3 for our girls to do at home. 🙁 I can’t find anything on their website. And the birthday party kit is discontinued. They have only a couple workshop kits listed too. 🙁 Wonder why they discontinued the kid workshops, they were always packed when we went. While most Home Depots are once again holding the kids’ workshops in person, you can also ask the customer service desk for a free kit to take home. And that’s not fair to the kids that you are being selective in who you represent.

TheHome Depotfree Kids workshops are such a big hit, not only in our family, but for everyone looking to get the kids out for some hands-on, free fun!
